Melanie Facchiano

Melanie is a dedicated professional currently working in the Office of Early Childhood Programs at Howard County Public Schools. Her comprehensive background in early childhood includes roles such as Assistant Teacher, Office Manager, Public Relations and Marketing Administrator, Webmaster & Online Registration Coordinator. Melanie’s diverse skill set enhances her ability to support educational programs effectively, fostering a nurturing and well-organized environment for staff, young learners and their families.

Prior to her career in education, Melanie was a CMCA-certified property manager with extensive experience in both New Jersey and Maryland. Throughout her career, she managed a diverse portfolio, including master, recreation, commercial, and residential associations.  In these roles, Melanie guided several Boards of Trustees in fulfilling their fiduciary responsibilities, effectively addressing the needs of their growing communities. Her expertise in navigating complex management challenges and supporting boards in their administrative and financial duties has been instrumental in fostering thriving, well-managed communities.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Melanie is actively involved in volunteer work. Her past roles include Parent Group President, PTA President, and Athletic Boosters Vice President. She is also currently a member of the HCPSS Transition to Kindergarten Workgroup.

Melanie and her husband Jay have three sons and live in Columbia. She enjoys reading, watching her sons play their various sports, and spending time with friends and family. Melanie is a lifelong Howard County resident whose contributions reflect her deep commitment to enhancing early childhood education and supporting her community.
